PhilHealth Contribution Table Effective January 1, 2013

phicPhilHealth issued a Memorandum Circular  057-2012 dated November 22, 2012 to amend the PhilHealth contributions of the individual paying, overseas workers, and the employed sector. The change in the contributions will take effect on the start of the calendar year of 2013, January 1st. Business sectors including all other concerned are hereby notified to comply with the new rates of PhilHealth Contribution.

I.Legal Basis and Objective
Section 16 of R.A 7875 empowers the Corporation to formulate and implement guidelines on contribution and benefits. By virtue thereof and through the authority of PhilHeallth Board Resolution No. 1677. Series of 2012, this Circular is hereby issued in response to the public clamor for the reconsideration of the implementation of the premium contribution increases in various PhilHealth membership categories as sanctioned under PhilHealth Board Resolution No. 1571, Series of 2011.

II.Coverage
This Circular shall only apply to the Individually Paying, Overseas Workers, and Employed Sector membership in the NHIP.

III.Implementing Guidelines

The provisions of the PBR No. 1571 s. 2011 on the effectivity of implementation of premium contribution increases shall be deferred until the end of CY 2013.

Transitionally, the implementation of the corresponding premium rates for the following membership categories shall be in effect starting from January 2013 up to December 2013:

a) Individually Paying Program and Overseas Workers Programs

Self-employed individuals under the Individually Paying Program shall pay the minimum annual premium contribution of One Thousand Eight Hundred Pesos (Php 1,800.00) effective only from January to December 2013. Provided that, self-employed professionals earning an average monthly income of more than Twenty Five Thousand Pesos (Php25,000.00) shall pay their annual premium contribution in the amount of Three Thousand Six Hundred Pesos (Php3,600.00). Provided further that, all valid and effective policy contracts signed prior to this Board Resolution shall remain effective and enforceable until expiration.

Overseas Workers under the Overseas Workers Program shall pay the minimum annual premium contribution of One Thousand Two Hundred Pesos (PhPl,200.00) which is effective since January 2012 up to December 2013 only.

b) Employed Sector
The premium contributions for the Employed Sector, starting January 2013 to December 2013 only, shall be in accordance with the following premium contribution schedule using the following baselines:

  1. Premium rate at 2.5% of the basic monthly salary
  2. Use of salary bracket
  3. Salary bracket floor shall start at P7,000.00
  4. Salary bracket ceiling shall be at P35,000.00

*Employee share represents half of the total monthly premium while the other half is shouldered by the employer.

Can I pay for the required number of quarters in advance so I can visit my doctor asap for the treatment. I believe this is urgent, but as i’ve said my Philhealth isn’t updated po.   3. ah kung nag 9 months contributions ka ay puede ka pang mag bayad ng retroactive hanggang april 30 2013 pero pag hnd kpa naka pag contribute ng 9 months ay hnd ka na maka pag retroactive puede mong e continue na lng to apy the 2nd quarter tnx.

    1. Depende rin po sa inyo kung gusto nyo yung minimum contributions lng based on the updated PHIC contribution table. Ang importante po sa payment you do it in a monthly basis para active lagi yung account nyo

  8. hello po. Tungkol po ito sa bagong premium contribution na 87.50php ang employer share pati rin po ang employee share. Fixed po yung salary namin sa 5,000php. Pag po inilalagay sa RF1 Excel para po sa employer’s quarterly remmitance report, ang nalabas po ay yung dating contribution na 62.50. Hindi po siya mapalitan. May bago ba pong download ang philhealth na RF1 Excel para po makagawa ng remmitance report for 2013?

I mean nadoble yung monthly premium. example, last june, instead of remitting just 175(combined employee and employer share) we have remitted 350? what should we do na hindi maaargabyado both us the employer and the employees??

    Ask ko lang po.. Employed po ako hanggang october 2013, i was expecting kc manganganak ako ng november 2013, na delay po ng 1 week.. So december 2013 po ako nanganak. Hndi po magamit philhealth benefits ko kc hndi po atleast 9 months back ward starting sa month kung kelan ako nanganak..pwede ko po bang hulugan as voluntary ang month of november 2013 ko? I want to change my membership sana from employed to ofw then pay the contribution through my mother in the Phils.
